Since our integration of an adolescent program in 2007, we have prided ourselves in keeping track of each and every student graduating from Downtown Montessori. Our very first DMA graduate will be starting at Alverno in the fall and we couldn’t be happier. While the student below did not graduate from DMA (our school only went up to Upper Elementary at the time), it is so wonderful to hear that Downtown Montessori has had such a lasting impact on the family.
Hello Ginny, Amy, & Beth!
I wanted to take this moment to update you on a student. I am the proud mother of Sawyer Uecke who was with DMA from 2000-2007. During that time DMA went though many transitions, including the big move to Bay View. My son has excelled academically due in part to the dedicated, smart, hardworking teachers, staff, and programs from DMA.
Sawyer graduated valedictorian of A.E. Burdick elementary school in 2012. He was awarded placement at Ronald W. Reagan IB High School where he is about to begin his Sophomore year next week. He is currently 1st in his class and has big plans for college. Some of the colleges he is looking at are the University of WI, MIT, University of California, Berkeley, Stanford University. It is a very exciting time for us.
Sawyer worked this summer for the City of Milwaukee’s job training program with the Boys & Girls Club of Milwaukee. He has already advanced to the next tier level of that program for next Summer and will be placed in a Milwaukee based company for an internship. Also, he gets his drivers license next month.
I will be happy to keep you in the loop with his future successes as I don’t think I can help myself. Sawyer is such a great kid. He had an excellent foundation laid for him with DMA. I hope you know how wonderful you are!
